We need an agency Business Director who can support our new business development efforts and help drive the future growth of our agency. Someone who is a non-traditional thinker, self starter type. Someone with the drive and tenacity to seek out prospects that will be the right fit for our agency and convince them we’re worth a 30-minute intro meeting.

YOU MUST

  • Support ongoing agency new business acquisition efforts, including the creation and execution of an annual agency marketing strategy
  • Partner with the Director of Growth to create and maintain a sustainable new business infrastructure (CRM, lead tracking, etc)
  • As needed, update and maintain agency information in search consultant and agency finder databases
  • Partner with the Director of Growth to support business development efforts, including the development and submission of Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Manage the workflow of our indifference-fighting agency pitch process
  • With support, respond to inbound prospect requests, quickly assessing potential and determining next steps
  • Partner with PR and Leadership Team to identify speaking and thought leadership opportunities, and, develop the content to fulfill them as needed
  • Partner with PR and Leadership Team to plan and execute external promotion of agency awards, key new business wins and other relevant news that positively impacts busines development efforts
  • Embody the values of The Variable while maintaining a positive attitude and dedication
  • Have an interest outside of advertising that you are just as passionate about as advertising (we are firm believers in work/life balance…we need to know you love something else)

 

YOU HAVE

  • 5-7 years of sales, marketing and/or agency experience, preferably in business development or account management
  • A solid understanding of the agency process and the advertising industry is helpful, but not required
  • The drive to seek out the right prospects for our agency
  • The motivation to always deliver the best work without micromanagement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The coveted skills of organization, detail-orientation and multi-tasking-ation
  • An ability to distill conversations with leaders throughout the agency into clear, task-oriented next steps and to-dos
  • The ability to keep things moving and work with multiple internal teams and stakeholders
  • A desire to learn, try new things, and a willingness to always say, “how can I help?” on whatever crazy opportunity pops up next
