We are looking for a Social Content Producer who has 3+ years of social or digital experience and many more years of making stuff with your phone.

At The Variable, you will not just be “a social person.” You will be a maker, an idea generator, and someone who is inspired by the possibility of helping brands co-create the future with the human beings who love them. 

You will partner with Social and Creative to define what greatness means for your clients. To make innovative content and find new ways of engaging with video, photo, and motion – within social platforms and without. You will sit at the intersection of our Social, Creative and Production Departments to ideate, develop, make, and write.

Our ideal Social Content Producer has a strong visual aesthetic and can adapt to multiple brand styles. You have a well developed POV on what makes social content impactful and effective. You have an impressive photography portfolio, a mastery of shooting for social, and production set experience. You do not need to be a great technical designer, but must have an excellent eye for color, layout, composition, and trend. You also must be a strong writer for social, balancing brand tone, creativity, the desired objective, and speed.

You are a person who is excited by the combination of creative and tech, interactive video, Spark AR, capturing behind-the-scenes on set, and trying to make ads more fun than they’ve ever been. You pay acute attention to social creative trends and industry-leading opportunities, bringing them back to our team and clients.

You will be a key integrator between all teams, because social plays in all worlds and cannot be relegated to a department.


  • Exhibit a strong personal understanding of – and fascination by – human behavior on social, at a macro (brand, culture, industry, trend) level and micro (individual, connection, expectations) level.
  • Participate in and drive concept development for social content.
  • Produce engaging and interactive content for social.
  • Drive or support production team on photoshoot.
  • Have experience on-set and interface well with clients, influencers, and production teams.
  • Develop ideas for real-time content creation, and processes that facilitate them.
  • Write engaging and creative social copy.
  • Understand the breadth of social behaviors across multiple platforms.
  • Balance multiple brand projects and clearly differentiate the creative.
  • Have an interest outside of advertising that you are just as passionate about as advertising (we are firm believers in work/life balance…we need to know you love something else).


  • 3+ years of social / creative experience.
  • Proven track record of creating social content.
  • Included a link to portfolio with social content (either yours, or clients, or both).
  • Experience shooting photo on DSLR and with mobile.
  • Experience editing images with mobile apps and in-platform.
  • Shoot and edit photo and video in mobile.
  • Strong presentation skills (both keynote/powerpoint building and speaking/pitching creative).
  • Experience in motion design, whether AfterAffects, Photoshop, or new motion apps.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
  • Illustrator/InDesign skills are a plus.
  • The motivation to always deliver the best work without micromanagement.
  • No relevant college degree or experience required.
