The Variable has once again joined the ranks of globally recognized brands like Microsoft, Siemens, Robolox, Colgate-Palmolive, and PayPal on Fast Company magazine’s annual list of Best Workplaces for Innovators. This year marks the third consecutive year The Variable has been selected by Fast Company, making the agency the only ad agency in the world to appear on the list in each of the past three years. The Variable also joins Google, IBM, Nestle, SAP, Paypal, Stanley/Black & Decker and others as one of only 12 brands to make the list every year since 2020.

Developed in collaboration with Accenture, the 2022 Best Workplaces for Innovators ranks organizations from a variety of industries, including biotech, consumer packaged goods, nonprofit, cybersecurity, engineering, sustainability, consumer products and more. Fast Company editors and Accenture researchers worked together to score nearly 1,500 applications from across the globe, and a panel of eight eminent judges reviewed and endorsed the top companies.

“This year’s list of the Best Workplaces for Innovators recognizes organizations that have demonstrated a deep commitment to cultivating creativity across the board,” said Brendan Vaughan, editor-in-chief of Fast Company. “In the face of powerful headwinds, these leaders and teams continue to spur innovation.”

Apparent to the judges is the unique approach The Variable takes to helping brands fight their biggest competitor – indifference – through advertising that drives growth for today and innovation that designs growth for tomorrow. The Variable’s innovation offering, coupled with a proven track record of success in taking new innovation to market through breakthrough advertising, has led to incredible growth for its clients, the agency, and its team members. That has come together for successful partnerships with brands like Nestlé, P&G, NAPA Auto Parts, BASF, Frigidaire, Purpose Financial and Electrolux.

“We have worked very hard to build an agency that is completely different, one that brings innovation and creativity together in a truly unique way,” said David Mullen, CEO and partner at The Variable. “Our differentiated story has helped us woo ridiculously talented people from big agencies, management consultancies, innovation consultancies and brands, resulting in a team that can affect our clients’ broader business challenges, invent solutions, operationalize and commercialize those solutions, all while engaging the market with creativity that drives action.”
