The Variable is searching for a world-class Accounts Payable Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled multitasker, a reliable human being and committed to consistently meeting deadlines. On top of that, this person has the ability to thrive (and stay focused) in a fast-paced, music-filled, dog-inhabited, highly creative environment.

YOU MUST: 

  • Enter invoices into agency accounting software
  • Obtain proper approval for accounts payable
  • Review vendor statements
  • Be a primary contact for vendor inquiries
  • Manage accounts payable email inbox/outbox
  • Work with accounting staff for month end close
  • Work with TVA staff to set up new vendors and manage the vendor database
  • Process employee expense reports (weekly)
  • Credit card reconciliation (monthly)
  • Balance sheet reconciliations related to accounts payable
  • Process and review the weekly AP aging for vendor payments
  • Cash posting to vendor invoices
  • Other projects as assigned

 

YOU HAVE:

  • Accounts Payable experience (preferred, but not necessary)
  • A positive attitude in a changing environment
  • Familiarity with Workamajig/agency accounting systems (a plus)
  • Attention to detail and desire to ensure accuracy
  • The ability to learn new things quickly
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills 
  • The ability to multitask 
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
